My Travel Photography

By HOWARD BERGER

TORONTO (Aug. 22) – Given that many of you have spoiled me rotten with comments about my alleged photograpy skill, I thought I might spend some time “feeding the beast.”

Once upon a time, I was known as a hockey reporter and I plan to re-claim that title in the next month or so. Moving from a house in Thornhill to an apartment in mid-town – with a balcony and unobstructed view facing north – has prompted me, most days, to fetch my trusty Nikon at sun-rise and sun-set (both of which I can brilliantly view from my 14th-floor perch). Weather-related shots have also filled my Facebook page in recent weeks. As one that often provides unvarnished opinion about the beloved Toronto Maple Leafs, I’m not accustomed to overwhelming acclaim. That’s why I’m enjoying this photo hobby so much. Pleasant thoughts have come forth in a deluge.

While the mood prevails (it will wane, I assure you, once the first puck is dropped), I have cobbled together a profusion of my images – snapped while traveling about North America the past couple of years (mostly for hockey). I trust you’ll enjoy these, as you have my “balcony” shots.

More hockey stuff will follow during the 2013-14 NHL season.
